Spring Summer 2014: What You Need To Know
1. Pinstripe Tailoring
Often viewed as the domain of bankers, pinstripes now offer a viable way for the modern gent to separate his formal wear from the rest of the crowd.
To create a timeless suit, we recommend that more subtle stripes that are closer together for a friendlier, less abrasive approach – especially for an office environment.
If you are looking for ultimate versatility, favour pinstripe over chalk stripe as they are much more understated. Those wanting to make a statement should instead look towards another on rend option: checked tailoring.
2. Anything as long as its pink
Pink is a major color trend for SS14 and not just the classic light pink of our famed Oxford shirts - every shade imaginable is acceptable this season.
We have aded a few more shades of pink for this season that can be used to create a blazer or pair of trousers; either would be ideal for summer weddings or smart-casual events.
3. Bloom Town
While some designers are putting flowers on everything this season (bags, hats, suits and shoes), we have introduced a more subtle range of floral patterns for our bespoke shirts that look great on a summer’s day.
In addition, we have a great range of jacket linings that would give you the necessary fashion edge without compromising timeless style.
4. A Lighter Shade of Grey
We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again - a slim-fitting grey cotton suit should be your go-to when it comes to summer tailoring. However, this season the shades of grey are lighter than ever before, varying in colour from concrete at their darkest to cement at their lightest (aka a shade darker than white).
